The Director, Human Resource Management and Administration, Mrs. Valerie Jones’ career in the public service spans over 30 years. Her career began in the Ministry of Health in 1987 and has taken her to several ministries and departments including the Ministry of Public Utilities and Transport, The General Consumption Tax Department and the Inland Revenue Department. She has been assigned to the Attorney-General’s Chambers since 2002. Her vast and diverse working experience and training includes areas of human resource management, human resource development as well as administrative management.
Mrs Jones is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, where she obtained both a Bachelor of Science Degree (First Class Honours) in Public Administration and International Relations and a Master of Science Degree in Government (Public Sector Management). She also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at the Management Institute for National Development. She has also pursued numerous training courses in areas such as general management, human resource management and leadership. These include the Training of Trainers Course and the Caribbean Leadership Development Project, Leadership Development Programme.
